FAMILY DENTISTRY

  • Dental Fillings

A cavity is a hollow space caused by tooth decay, an infection that eats away at your tooth. Dr. Sadeghi treats decay by removing the infected portion of the tooth. He then restores the empty space with a strong, tooth-colored filling that no one else will even notice.

If you’re experiencing pain or a tingling sensation in your tooth, you may be suffering from decay. Without regular checkups, a cavity can go unnoticed for quite a while. Over time, your cavity will grow and become extremely painful.

See Dr. Sadeghi right away if you notice any of the following symptoms of tooth decay:

    • Random, sharp pain

    • Pain while eating

    • Dark spots or holes in your tooth that remain after brushing

    • Sensitivity, especially to hot or cold foods

  • Gum health

Practicing effective oral hygiene habits - like brushing and flossing - will protect your gums. Dangerous bacteria that cause cavities can also wreak havoc on your gums, leading to a devastating condition known as gum disease.

Visiting Dr. Sadeghi and Kim for regular checkups will keep your gums healthy, helping to ensure a lifetime of healthy smiles. If you’re currently suffering from gum disease, we have effective treatments to remedy the condition.

  • Root canal therapy

The root canal therapy process begins when Dr. Sadeghi numbs the affected tooth with a local anesthetic. Then he uses a small sheet of latex called a dental dam to isolate the tooth and keep it clean during the procedure.

Next, Dr. Sadeghi will use microscope technology to create a tiny hole in the tooth in order to remove the infected pulp. The extreme magnification we get using microscopic-assisted root canal therapy allows us to work on tiny structures, minimizing your pain and dramatically reducing your recovery time.

After the infected pulp is removed, a rubbery substance called gutta-percha will be inserted into the tooth to take the place of the removed pulp.

Following root canal therapy, Dr. Sadeghi will use a porcelain crown to restore the tooth to full function and protect it from further infection. Your crown is specially created to look just like your natural teeth.

  • TMJ disorder

You have two temporomandibular joints (TMJ) — they’re located right below your ears. This remarkably complex joint allows your jaw to move in several directions.

TMD is a condition that causes pain in the jaw joint and surrounding muscles. It can affect you in a number of ways, making simple activities such as eating, speaking, and yawning painful or difficult.
